San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals
- Spread Odds: San Francisco 49ers -9.5
- Total: 43.0
Thursday Night Football on Halloween night is a perfect time for the country to see just how scary this 49ers defense is. San Francisco has been blowing teams out all season long, and its defense is a big reason why. The 49ers will make life very difficult for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense.
Arizona had won three straight games before getting blown out by the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The Cardinals are averaging 21.3 points per game but are giving up close to 28. This team is definitely improving, but they are going to get blown out on Thursday Night Football.
The San Francisco 49ers -9.5 is the right pick.
Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- Spread Odds: Houston Texans -2.5
- Total: 47.0
Football fans in London should be treated to a great game when Houston and Jacksonville take the field. Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson has thrown for over 2,200 yards this season and will need to be great in this game. The Texans defense will be without superstar JJ Watt.
Gardner Minshew has been impressive in his rookie season at QB for the Jaguars. Minshew is nearing 2,000 yards and has thrown 13 touchdown passes. The Jaguars struggle to defend at times, and that is going to cost them in this game.
The Texans offense is just too good, as Houston will win by more than three points in this game.
Washington Redskins at Buffalo Bills
- Spread Odds: Buffalo Bills -9.5
- Total: 37.0
If you are a fan of offense, then you might want to stay away from watching this game. These two teams have combined for less than 30 points per game this season, and defense is a strength for each team.
Washington’s lone win of the season came against the winless Miami Dolphins, and that was by a single point. The Redskins have a mess at quarterback, and that is a problem against the Bills.
The Bills have not exactly been great, but they have been good enough. Buffalo should blow out the Redskins and cover the 9.5-point spread.
Minnesota Vikings at Kansas City Chiefs
- Spread Odds: Minnesota Vikings -2.5
- Total: 52.0
This should be one of the highest-scoring games of the weekend, as these teams love to throw the ball. The big question surrounding this game is the health and status of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City can still win without him, but it makes things more difficult.
Minnesota has now won four straight games, and quarterback Kirk Cousins has figured things out. The Vikings defense will also play a huge role in this game and should shut down a talented Chiefs offense.
Bet the road Vikings -2.5 over the Kansas City Chiefs in this game.
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins
- Spread Odds: New York Jets -3.0
- Total: 40.5
The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are a combined 1-13 so far this season, but that should make for an exciting game. The Jets have actually won a game this season, but the Dolphins appear to be playing better at the moment.
Points will likely be at a premium in this game, as both teams just can’t score. Jets quarterback Sam Darnold had the worst game of his career just two weeks ago but played better in Week 8. Ryan Fitzpatrick has flashes of greatness for the Dolphins but is also careless with the ball.
Take the Dolphins +3.0 over the Jets to get their first win of the season.
Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers
- Spread Odds: Pittsburgh Steelers -1.0
- Total: 43.5
This is the one game that doesn’t make much sense in terms of the odds. The Colts are 5-2, and the Steelers are just 3-4, and the eye test says that Indianapolis is the much better team.
The Colts have not been dominating teams this season, but they continually find ways to win games. Jacoby Brissett has replaced the retired Andrew Luck nicely at the quarterback position.
Pittsburgh needed a huge second half to beat the Miami Dolphins in Week 8, and they can’t run the ball at all. The Steelers aren’t going to be able to win this game.
Bet the Indianapolis Colts +1.0 over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tennessee Titans at Carolina Panthers
- Spread Odds: Carolina Panthers -3.5
- Total: 41.0
Tennessee gave its starting quarterback job to Ryan Tannehill, and the result has been two straight wins. The Titans are still scoring less than 19 points per game, but that total has been much higher in recent weeks.
Carolina saw its four-game winning streak snapped in Week 8 in a brutal 51-13 loss to the 49ers. Kyle Allen will remain the starting quarterback, but look for him to use Christian McCaffrey more in this game.
It’s hard to win on the road in the NFL, and that will help the Panthers -3.5 win this game.
Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles
- Spread Odds: Philadelphia Eagles -4.5
- Total: 43.5
The Chicago Bears finally found their running game in Week 8, but it came in a losing effort to the Los Angeles Chargers. Running back David Montgomery had his first career 100-yard rushing day, but questions still surround this offense.
Philadelphia earned a solid win over Buffalo in Week 8, and it is trending in the right direction. Quarterback Carson Wentz is playing well, and the Eagles’ struggling defense won’t be tested much by Chicago.
Pick the Philadelphia Eagles -4.5 over the Chicago Bears.
Detroit Lions at Oakland Raiders
- Spread Odds: Oakland Raiders -2.0
- Total: 50.5
The Lions and Raiders are two of the biggest surprises in the NFL this season, but they are both still at or under .500. Detroit is going to throw the ball a ton, and Oakland will counter with plenty of running plays.
The Raiders still can’t find any defense, and their lack of pass rush will hurt them in this game. Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford is having a monster season, and he will light up the Raiders secondary.
Take the +2.0 points and bet on the Detroit Lions in this game.
Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos
- Spread Odds: Cleveland Browns -3.0
- Total: 39.0
This season has not gone the way that fans in Cleveland had hoped, and it looks like it’s another lost season for the Browns. The Browns are now just 2-5 on the season, but this weekend will present a great opportunity to turn things around.
Denver has suffered some brutal last-possession losses this season, but their offense just has to get better. The Broncos are scoring less than 16 points per game, and that’s going to cost them again in this one.
Look for the Browns to get back on track and take them -3.0 over Denver in this game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Seattle Seahawks
- Spread Odds: Seattle Seahawks -6.0
- Total: 52.0
The Seahawks have won four of their last five games, and quarterback Russell Wilson is having a monster season. Wilson has thrown 17 touchdowns to just one interception, and the Seahawks are a top-10 rushing team as well.
Tampa Bay is throwing for over 270 yards per game, but its lack of balance on offense will hurt it. Oh, and the Buccaneers continue to refuse to play any sort of defense.
Seattle isn’t losing at home, and taking them at -6.0 is the right pick.
Green Bay Packers at Los Angeles Chargers
- Spread Odds: Green Bay Packers -2.0
- Total: 46.5
The Los Angeles Chargers grabbed a solid road win over the Bears in Week 8, but now comes the real test. Quarterback Philip Rivers was still careless with the ball in that win, but running back Melvin Gordon is looking better each week.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been putting on a show of late, and his offense is firing on all cylinders. Rodgers will pick apart this Chargers secondary, and have his third straight 300-yard passing day. Green Bay also has a great defense, although they have some people banged up.
Take the Green Bay Packers -2.0 over the Los Angeles Chargers.
New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens
- Spread Odds: New England Patriots -3.5
- Total: 45.0
The Baltimore Ravens want to be great, and the New England Patriots are great. This game will feature the dynamic Ravens rushing attack against the historic Patriots defense.
Look for the Ravens to keep this game close throughout, as the Patriots simply can’t keep blowing every team out. The problem for Baltimore is that they don’t throw the ball well, and Bill Belichick will exploit that.
New England is going to move to 9-0 with a comfortable win over the Ravens.
Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
- Spread Odds: Dallas Cowboys -7.0
- Total: 48.0
The New York Giants have found their franchise quarterback in Daniel Jones, but it hasn’t led to many wins this season. New York has lost four straight games, and its defense is a big reason why. The Giants are giving up 28.0 points per game and will face an explosive Cowboys offense in this one after Dallas scored 35 points on New York in their first meeting this season.
Dallas is top five in both rushing and passing yards per game, but scoring points has been an issue. The Cowboys are fresh off of their bye week, and their offense should be crisp in this one.
Don’t expect this game to be close. Take the Cowboys -7.0 as they will roll.
