It’s the final week of the 2019 NFL regular season, and most of the games have very little significance. There are a couple of playoff spots up for grabs, and the NFC East title is still on the line. Expect several games to feature teams that are resting their star players, which always plays a role in Week 17. Let’s take a look at each game and make a betting prediction for each of them.

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills

  • Spread Odds: Buffalo Bills -1.5
  • Total: 36.5

The Buffalo Bills are locked into their playoff seed in the AFC, but they will be trying to build momentum for a deep playoff run. Quarterback Josh Allen has thrown for over 3,000 yards this season, but the Bills can run the football.

New York is just 1-6 on the road this season, and it has several flaws that it needs to work on in the offseason. The Jets are one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league, and they won’t score many against a stout Bills defense.

Bet the Bills -1.5 in this game.

Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals

  • Spread Odds: Cleveland Browns -2.5
  • Total: 45.0

This is a matchup of two of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. The Cincinnati Bengals were abysmal all season long, and the Browns fell flat after being expected to be a playoff contender.

Andy Dalton is back in the fold for the Bengals, and he gives Cincinnati a terrific passing threat. Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield has struggled all season long, and things won’t improve in this game.

Bet the Bengals +2.5 to beat their Ohio rival in this game.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

  • Spread Odds: Green Bay Packers -9.5
  • Total: 41.0

The Green Bay Packers are champions of the NFC North again this season, and Detroit comes into this game with a record of just 3-11-1.

Detroit is playing a third-string quarterback, and the Packers have one of the best in the NFL in Aaron Rodgers. The Packers also have a terrific defense this season, and that will play a huge role in this game.

This game could be over in a hurry, and the Packers -9.5 is the pick in this one.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs

  • Spread Odds: Kansas City Chiefs -8.5
  • Total: 46.0

The Kansas City Chiefs can still be the No. 2 seed in the AFC, but they will need some help. The Chiefs gave up just three points in their Week 16 win, and their defense has been a pleasant surprise this season.

Los Angeles has been a mess on both sides of the ball, but quarterback Philip Rivers will continue to throw it. The Chargers will try to outscore the Chiefs, and that just simply won’t work.

Bet the Chiefs -8.5 in a rout in the season finale.

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings

  • Spread Odds: Minnesota Vikings -7.0
  • Total: 37.0

The Chicago Bears don’t do much scoring, and their defense is without several key starters. It’s hard to think that the Bears will be real competitive in this game.

Minnesota missed out on a chance to win the NFC North with a Week 16 loss, but the Vikings are a playoff team. The Vikings are led on defense by Danielle Hunter, and he should have a great game in this one.

Bet the Vikings -7.0 to blow out the Bears in the season finale.

Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

  • Spread Odds: New England Patriots -15.5
  • Total: 45.0

The New England Patriots are champions of the AFC East again this season and are looking to wrap up the No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs. New England is going to win this game, but it hasn’t dominated opponents this season.

Miami has problems on both sides of the ball, and it has gone just 1-6 on the road this season. The Dolphins have been playing better of late, and they will keep this one within two touchdowns.

Take the +15.5 points and bet on the Dolphins in this one.

Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Spread Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -1.0
  • Total: 48.0

If you like high-powered offenses, then this is the game for you. Both teams are going to throw the ball a ton, and neither team has much of a defense.

Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan is having another tremendous season, and Julio Jones is an unstoppable wide receiver. Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston has thrown for over 4,600 yards but has also thrown 29 interceptions.

The Falcons are going to get some takeaways, and betting Atlanta at +1.0 is the right call.

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers

  • Spread Odds: New Orleans Saints -13.0
  • Total: 47.5

Not much description needed in this game as this is a tale of two teams heading in opposite directions. The Saints look like a Super Bowl contender, and the Panthers are looking for a new head coach.

The Saints are going to score points in a hurry in this one, and the Panthers won’t be able to keep up. Bet the Saints -13.0 in the season finale.

Washington Redskins at Dallas Cowboys

  • Spread Odds: Dallas Cowboys -10.5
  • Total: 44.5

The Dallas Cowboys blew a chance to win the NFC East in Week 16 and did so without scoring a touchdown. Dallas has talent all over the field, but this team has some issues that can’t be solved.

Washington is still looking for a quarterback and will be without rookie Dwayne Haskins in this game. The Redskins can’t score, and they don’t stop anyone either.

The Cowboys -10.5 is the pick, but Dallas will be watching the playoffs from home.

Oakland Raiders at Denver Broncos

  • Spread Odds: Denver Broncos -3.0
  • Total: 41.0

Both the Raiders and Broncos had decent 2019 seasons, but they will both be missing the playoffs. This game will give each team a chance to end the season with some momentum.

Oakland is still looking for more defense, and the Broncos can really run the ball. Look for the Broncos to get enough offense to win this game at home.

Bet Denver -3.0 over Oakland in this game.

Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

  • Spread Odds: Los Angeles Rams -7.5
  • Total: 46.0

The Los Angeles Rams entered the season as a Super Bowl contender and will end the season without a playoff appearance. Los Angeles fell apart on offense, and its defense gave up too many big plays.

The Cardinals stunned the Seahawks in Week 16, and they will have some momentum in this game. Winning in Los Angeles won’t be easy, but the Cardinals will keep it close.

Take the +7.5 points and pick the Cardinals in this game.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants

  • Spread Odds: Philadelphia Eagles -4.5
  • Total: 45.5

Philadelphia can win the NFC East with a victory over the rival Giants, and it will be motivated. The Eagles defense held the Cowboys to just nine points in Week 16, and they should dominate this game.

New York has been scoring points like crazy of late, but they are also prone to mistakes. The Giants will keep this close for a while, but their season ends in a loss.

Bet the Eagles -4.5 over the Giants in this Week 17 showdown.

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Spread Odds: Indianapolis Colts -3.5
  • Total: 43.0

This game doesn’t really matter for anything besides pride, and each team has to be disappointed with how the 2019 season played out.

Indianapolis struggled without Andrew Luck, and the Jaguars benched Nick Foles after just a few games. It’s hard to predict who will show up in this game, but the Jaguars have the edge playing at home.

Take the +3.5 points and the Jaguars in this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

  • Spread Odds: Baltimore Ravens -2.0
  • Total: 38.0

Baltimore and Pittsburgh have a terrific rivalry, and they have both dominated the AFC North this decade. Baltimore has been the only team dominating this season, and the Ravens have the best rushing offense in the NFL.

Pittsburgh can still reach the playoffs with a win, but this team has several issues. The Steelers don’t really have a quarterback, and their offense will struggle in this one.

Bet the Ravens -2.0 to end the Steelers’ season in this game.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans

  • Spread Odds: Tennessee Titans -4.0
  • Total: 45.5

The Houston Texans are champions of the AFC South, and they are locked into a playoff seed. That should lead to the Texans resting some players in this game, giving the Titans a great chance.

Tennessee has been a different team since Ryan Tannehill took over at quarterback, and the Titans can really score. The Titans need a win to reach the playoffs, and they will get it in this game.

Bet the Titans -4.0 over the Texans in this Week 17 showdown.

San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks

  • Spread Odds: San Francisco 49ers -3.0
  • Total: 47.0

Marshawn Lynch is back with the Seattle Seahawks, and that should give the team a jolt of energy. Seattle suffered a crushing loss in Week 16, but it did beat the 49ers earlier this season.

San Francisco is the second-best rushing team in the league, and its defense has racked up close to 50 sacks this season. The Niners have a ton of young talent, and they can win on the road.

The 49ers have just been the better team, and San Francisco wins this game by more than three points.
