NFL Week 1 Betting Schedule
Thursday, September 5
Sunday, September 8
Monday, September 9
Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears
- Spread Odds: Chicago Bears -3
- Total: 46.5
The Packers and Bears have one of the best rivalries in the NFL, and this is a great way to kick off the 2019 season. Chicago is a 3.0 point favorite in this game, and they are looking to repeat as NFC North Champions.
Green Bay still has Aaron Rodgers under center, and he is one of the top quarterbacks in the league. The Bears are just too good on the defensive side of the ball, and they are going to beat the Packers on Thursday. Night.
Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles
- Spread Odds: Philadelphia Eagles -9.5
- Total: 46
The Eagles are 9.5 point home favorites over the Redskins on Sunday, and it’s for good reason. Philadelphia will have Carson Wentz back under center this season, and that should make a ton of difference.
Washington has a mess at the quarterback position, and their offense is going to struggle in 2019. The Redskins can play some defense, but it won’t help them keep this game close against the Eagles. Our prediction is Eagles win in a BLOWOUT.
Buffalo Bills at New York Jets
- Spread Odds: New York Jets -3
- Total: 40
The Bills and the Jets are competing to be the second best team in the AFC East. Both of these teams were horrible on offense a season ago, and there will be young quarterbacks on the field.
New York looked impressive in the preseason with Sam Darnold running the show, and they should cover the -3 point spread. Buffalo will be better this season, but they aren’t beating the Jets on the road.
Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins
- Spread Odds: Baltimore Ravens -6.5
- Total: 37.5
The Ravens are -6.5 point road favorites in their season opener as they travel to South Beach to take on the Dolphins. Baltimore was a playoff team a season ago, while the Dolphins really struggled. The Ravens will run the ball a ton in this game, and Miami doesn’t have much of a defense.
The Dolphins should look much better under a new head coach, but that won’t help them in this game. Baltimore just has too many weapons and they will win this game by more than a touchdown.
The official NFL week 1 betting tip for this game is Ravens -6.5 to cover.
Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns
- Spread Odds: Cleveland Browns -5.5
- Total: 45.5
The Browns are -5.5 point favorites in the season opener, and their fans are expecting a great season. Cleveland brought in a ton of new weapons in the offseason, and Baker Mayfield was impressive in his rookie season.
Tennessee has finished with a 9-7 record in each of the last three seasons, but they are going to struggle in 2019. The Titans just don’t have the offense to compete in this game, and our predictions show the Browns will win it by double-digits.
Los Angeles Rams at Carolina Panthers
- Spread Odds: Los Angeles Rams -3
- Total: 50
The last time we saw the Rams, they were getting completely shut down by the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Running back Todd Gurley is healthy again, and the Rams also get Cooper Kupp. The Rams are -3.0 point favorites over the Panthers in this game.
Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is still battling through some shoulder injuries, and that really hurts their offense. The Panthers should have a solid 2019 season, but they are going to struggle against the Rams. Carolina will keep it close, but they won’t cover.
Place your NFL week 1 bets on the Rams -3.
Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars
- Spread Odds: Kansas City Chiefs -3.5
- Total: 52
The Chiefs are just -3.5 point favorites in this game, which seems like the steal of the weekend. Kansas City has a superstar quarterback in Patrick Mahomes, and their offense can put up points in a hurry.
Jacksonville is a solid defensive team, but at some point they are going to have to score. The Jaguars have a ton of question marks entering the season, and playing the Chiefs in week 1 won’t help them answer any.
Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings
- Spread Odds: Minnesota Vikings -4
- Total: 48
Both teams come into this season hoping to improve upon a disappointing campaign a season ago. The Vikings will be trying to get the job done with defense, while the Falcons love to score some points. This game is in Minnesota, and that makes the Vikings a -4.0 point favorite.
This game should stay close for awhile, but it’s hard to bet against the Vikings at home. Minnesota should get a solid game from quarterback Kirk Cousins, and their defense will do the rest in leading to a season opening win.
Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Chargers
- Spread Odds: Los Angeles Chargers -6.5
- Total: 45
This is a matchup of playoff teams from a season ago, but that likely won’t happen again this season. The Colts will be without quarterback Andrew Luck, who announced his retirement from the NFL just a week ago. Indianapolis still has some weapons, but losing Luck is a big blow.
The Chargers will be without running back Melvin Gordon, but they still have quarterback Philip Rivers. Los Angeles should put up a ton of points in this game. The Chargers are -6.5 point favorites, and they will cover that in this one.
Cincinnati Bengals at Seattle Seahawks
- Spread Odds: Seattle Seahawks -9.5
- Total: 44
Playing in Seattle is no easy task, but that is what will be facing the Bengals on Sunday. The Bengals had a forgettable 2018 season while the Seahawks were a playoff team. Seattle is an -9.5 point favorite at home in this game.
The Seahawks are going to have enough offense to win this game, but it will be closer than most people will expect. Cincinnati can score some points, and they will keep this game close. Seattle wins the game, but the Bengals will cover being given +9.5 line.
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
- Spread Odds: Dallas Cowboys -7
- Total: 45.5
The biggest question surrounding this game is if Ezekiel Elliott will be suiting up for the Cowboys. Dallas is currently a -7 point favorite over their rival, but playing without their star running back would be a major blow.
Eli Manning is back for another season with the Giants, but his replacement, Daniel Jones, will be ready on the sidelines. The Giants don’t have a ton of talent, and their lack of offense will hurt them in this game. With or without Elliott, the pick is the Dallas Cowboys -7!
San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Spread Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -1
- Total: 50
The Buccaneers are a slim -1 point favorite in this matchup of bad teams in 2018. Tampa Bay still has Jameis Winston at quarterback, and their defense should be much improved under Bruce Arians.
The 49ers just put Jerick McKinnon on the IR, and losing a great running back won’t help their chances. San Francisco should get solid play at quarterback from Jimmy Garappolo, but they won’t have enough offense to win this game. The Buccaneers will win this game and cover the small spread.
Our pick & prediction is on the Bucs -1 in this game.
Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals
- Spread Odds: Detroit Lions -2.5
- Total: 47
The debut of Kyler Murray has Cardinals fans excited, but they are still +2.5 point underdogs in this game. The Cardinals were the worst team in the NFL a season ago, but will be employing a new offensive scheme in this game.
Detroit should be much better in year two under Matt Patricia, and quarterback Matthew Stafford is one of the best in the league. The Lions aren’t a great team, but they will beat the Cardinals by at least three points in this one.
Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots
- Spread Odds: New England Patriots -5.5
- Total: 51
The reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots are -5.5 point favorites over the Steelers in the season opener. Tom Brady is back for another season, but he will be without Rob Gronkowski. The Patriots still look like Super Bowl contenders yet again.
The Steelers will be without Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell on the offensive side of the ball, but QB Ben Roethlisberger is still there. Pittsburgh had a ton of issues on defense a season ago, and that will be the difference in this game. This will be a great game, but the Patriots will win this great NFL Week 1 game.
Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints
- Spread Odds: New Orleans Saints -7
- Total: 53
The Texans and Saints were both playoff teams a season ago, and they should be again this season. Houston has a rising star at quarterback in Deshaun Watson, and the Saints have a future Hall of Famer in Drew Brees.
The Saints are almost impossible to beat at home, and their offense should put up a ton of points in this game. Houston will still have a great 2019 season, but this is just a tough task. Bet the New Orleans Saints -7 in a blowout over the Texans.
Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders
- Spread Odds: Denver Broncos -1
- Total: 43
The Raiders are featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks this preseason, and everything seemed to be going well. They will get their first real test on Monday night when they host the Broncos. This game is currently listed as Broncos -1 point favorites, and it should be that close.
The Broncos will have a new quarterback running the offense as Joe Flacco will be taking over. Oakland still has Derek Carr, and he has a new weapon in Antonio Brown. This likely won’t be one of the best played games of the weekend, but the Raiders will win a close game over the Broncos.
