The Bengals finished the previous season bottom of the AFC North with a 6-10 record. Their defense was one of the worst in the league, and the bookies don’t expect any improvement. Cincy is a massive +12500 underdog to win the Super Bowl LIV and a +700 out-of-towner to reach the playoffs.
Considering these prop bets, we shouldn’t expect the Bengals to win more than five or six games in 2019. They went 9-7 against the spread last season, while the over has hit on nine occasions along with one push.
Cincinnati should struggle defensively once again, so our predictions are not bright at all. We expect them to lose all three road contests in September. Likewise, considering the lines, they won’t cover the spread, either.
If you like to bet on the over-under on the totals, Cincy is definitely your team. With Andy Dalton under center and fragile defense, the Bengals will bring some strong picks in the over during the season.

History of Cincinnati Bengals
The Cincinnati Bengals have had a five-year playoff streak from 2011 to 2015. However, they lost in the wild-card game on all five occasions. Over the last three years, the Bengals couldn’t make it to the postseason. Likewise, they couldn’t surpass an eight-win mark in that span.
Last year, Cincy made a promising start, winning four of their first five games. Interestingly, all those five contests went in the over. Howsoever, they recorded just two wins for the rest of the season, while Andy Dalton suffered a thumb injury that ended his season in November.
At the end of the 2018 NFL season, Cincinnati decided to split ways with head coach Marvin Lewis after 16 long years. In that span, Lewis couldn’t get his team to the divisional round. Zac Taylor is the new head coach, and the 36-year old spent the last two years with the LA Rams as quarterbacks coach.
Established on May 23, 1967, the Bengals played their first NFL season in 1968. Since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970, Cincy is playing in the American Football Conference. They are members of the AFC North since 2002.
The Bengals have never won the championship, but they played twice in the Super Bowl as the AFC champions. In 1981, they defeated the Buffalo Bills 28-21 in the divisional round and the San Diego Chargers 27-7 in the AFC Championship Game.
Howsoever, Cincinnati lost to the San Francisco 49ers 26-21 in the Super Bowl XVI. They trailed by 20-0 after the second quarter, and there was no way back from that point. Cincy finished the regular season with a 12-4 record and played well in the playoffs, but Joe Montana’s 49ers were just too much.
In 1988, Cincinnati had a 12-4 record and met San Francisco once again in the Super Bowl XXIII. This time, the 49ers outlasted Cincy 20-16 even though they trailed by seven points after the third quarter. On the way to the Super Bowl XXIII, Cincinnati defeated Seattle 21-13 and Buffalo 21-10.
Two years later, Cincy outlasted the Houston Oilers 41-14 in the wild-card game and lost to the Los Angeles Raiders 20-10 in the divisional round. It was the last time they made it to the divisional playoffs.
Most Famous Players
Anthony Munoz and Ken Anderson are the greatest football players in Cincy’s history. These two guys spent their whole career with the team and were key players in the ‘80s when Cincinnati was one the best teams in the league.
Munoz is considered as one of the greatest offensive linemen in football history. He was the 3rd overall pick at the 1980 NFL Draft. Anthony was an 11-time Pro Bowl and nine-time All-Pro, while in 1998, he was inducted to the Hall of Fame.
On the other side, Ken Anderson was under center in Cincinnati for 16 years. He was the 67th overall pick at the 1971 NFL Draft. Anderson was a four-time Pro Bowl and one-time All-Pro, while he won the MVP Award in 1981.
It was a great year for Ken Anderson who led his team to the Super Bowl. He tossed for 3754 yards and 29 touchdowns (both career-high) and had a 98.4 quarterback rating.
