Super Bowl Futures

The Super Bowl is the most bet-on sporting event of the calendar year. Likewise, there is a huge chunk of money that is both wagered and won during the big game. Granted, the actual Super Bowl game draws most of the betting action. However, Bowl futures are also extremely popular in the United States as well.

There are several different types of Super Bowl futures bets available. And the biggest sportsbooks usually offer the widest range of betting options. Let’s look at a few of the most common Super Bowl futures bets. Then, we’ll break it down and make some predictions for Super Bowl LIV.

Super Bowl Futures Matchup Betting

This is one of the toughest Super Bowl futures bets to nail, especially early on in the season. This type of bet requires picking each of the two participants in the upcoming Super Bowl. Obviously, sportsbooks will offer matchups between teams from each conference before teams are eliminated from playoff contention.

There are some years where this type of bet could be easier to win than other years. However, the NFL playoffs always seem to offer up some surprises along the way. This type of Super Bowl futures bet could net a huge payday. Remember, that’s only if you can correctly predict the two Super Bowl contenders.

Super Bowl Champion

The most popular Super Bowl futures bet is picking the eventual Super Bowl champion. Naturally, there is a ton of action on picking the Super Bowl champion. Plus, this bet opens up the day after the previous champion is crowned.

The odds for this type of bet change almost daily as the regular season unfolds. Generally, the earlier you place this bet, the more money you will have a chance to win. If you are going to place this type of Super Bowl futures bet, you need to check the odds and betting lines daily or weekly. Then, strike when your chosen team has the most value.

Super Bowl Winner’s Conference

It might be hard for some people to decide what team will be the eventual Super Bowl champion. They might have a strong feeling about the best conference in the league. This Super Bowl futures bet goes right along with the Super Bowl champion bet. Likewise, there is a chance to double up your winnings by combining these bets.

These odds update throughout the regular season as well. Generally, they will likely stay up until right before kickoff of the big game. Note, the payout isn’t as great for this type of bet. It’s usually better for picking the Super Bowl champion, but there is still a chance to win some money.

Halftime Performance Future Betting

The Super Bowl is the most-watched sporting event every single year. Of course, a big reason for that is the Super Bowl Halftime Show. There have been a ton of extremely famous and talented performers that have taken the stage for this event, and there are also plenty of surprises each year as well.

The betting options for this type of bet are different every year, but they usually involve a special appearance from a performer or a specific song. The betting odds for this type of Super Bowl futures bet are usually released after the halftime performer is picked, and then they close well in advance of the big game.

This can be a fun way for non-football fans to get involved and attempt to win some money by betting on the biggest football game of the year.

Coin Flip – Heads or Tails

For some reason, betting on the coin flip at the Super Bowl has become one of the biggest betting phenomenons. There is a ton of money that is exchanged hands before the game even begins, and betting on the coin flip is extremely popular.

This is one of the Super Bowl futures bets that comes down to strictly luck, but it also gives non-football fans a chance to win some money betting on the big game.

Super Bowl MVP Winner

This Super Bowl futures bet is not usually released until the playoff field is set, and sometimes doesn’t even get posted until the playoffs are well underway. The Super Bowl MVP is usually chosen from the Super Bowl champion, so this will require bettors to pick the correct Super Bowl champion as well.

It could be best to wait until the Super Bowl matchup is set before placing a bet on the potential MVP, but the earlier you make the bet, the bigger the payout will be on the other end.

Super Bowl LIV Future Bets to Make

Now that we have discussed some of the different types of Super Bowl futures bets that are available, it’s time to take a look at some of the odds for Super Bowl LIV. Most of this discussion will be centered around the Odds to Win the Super Bowl, but we will talk about a few other betting types as well.

Odds to Win Super Bowl 2020

Let’s look at some of the teams with the top odds to win Super Bowl LIV and make a few dark horse predictions as well.

  • New England Patriots +330
  • Baltimore Ravens +400
  • San Francisco 49ers +575
  • New Orleans Saints +600
  • Green Bay Packers +800

There are plenty of reasons to place a bet on each of these five teams to win the Super Bowl this season. The New England Patriots are leading the AFC with just one loss, while the San Francisco 49ers are doing the same thing in the NFC.

Both the Patriots and 49ers have some serious competition, though, and taking New England at +330 is not great value at this time. Keep your eye on the New Orleans Saints at +600, as they have a huge chip on their shoulder this season after feeling like they got robbed a season ago.

Here are a couple of other teams to keep your eye on as the season goes along:

  • Seattle Seahawks +1100
  • Dallas Cowboys +2000
  • Houston Texans +4000

All three of these teams have some terrific pieces on their roster, and they are definitely in the Super Bowl championship conversation this season. Russell Wilson has the Seattle Seahawks with an 8-2 record this season, and he just continues to make huge plays when his team needs it the most.

Dallas has a terrific trio on the offensive side of the ball, and it can score on anyone.

The real dark-horse pick here is the Houston Texans at +4000. Houston has suffered a lot of close losses this season, and it has also proven that it can play with some of the best teams in the league.

Super Bowl Halftime Performance

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are set to headline the Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show, but that is not where the bets come in. There are a number of excellent Super Bowl futures odds currently available, and all of them center around what other big-name celebrities will make an appearance.

Super Bowl LIV will take place in Miami, and there are a ton of huge celebrities located in South Beach. Let’s take a look at a few of the betting options:

Will Alex Rodriguez Make An Appearance

  • Yes +2000
  • No -3000

Will Pitbull Make An Appearance

  • Yes -150
  • No +110

Will Shakira and Jennifer Lopez sing in Spanish

  • Yes -500
  • No +300

Three interesting betting options, but we have some solid picks for you. Alex Rodriguez is famous for baseball, and he will likely sit this one out. Pitbull is known as Mr. Worldwide, and there is NO WAY he misses this event. Bet on Pitbull -150 to make an appearance during the Halftime Show.

Shakira and Jennifer Lopez have made a name for themselves by mixing English and Spanish into their music, so taking them at -500 to bust out some Spanish is the right pick with that Super Bowl futures bet.

Coin Flip

Tails currently has a slight lead over Heads by a count of 28-25 heading into Super Bowl LIV in Miami. Tails has been the correct pick in five of the last six Super Bowls, including last year.

There isn’t much strategy to go with this one, but let’s take heads this year to stop the recent trend of tails being the correct pick.
